Identification of factors affecting opportunity recognition with an entrepreneurial bricolage approach in industrial waste management in Ardakan county

| This study aims to identify and validate the key components influencing opportunity recognition through an entrepreneurial bricolage approach in the industrial waste management sector of Ardakan county. This study adopts a qualitative, applied research design conducted in two stages. First, directed content analysis of the literature was combined with semi-structured interviews with 8 purposively selected waste management and entrepreneurship experts (using snowball sampling) to identify initial components. Second, these components were validated and screened through a two-round Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) with the same expert panel. The study identified and validated 15 main components. Among these, “environmental,” “organizational and resource,” and “entrepreneurial individual” components achieved the highest level of expert consensus. Conversely, “logistical and operational” and “ecological and sustainability” components received the lowest relative consensus from the experts. The findings suggest that bricolage-based waste management is a multidimensional process depending on the interaction of environmental constraints, resource availability, institutional support, and the entrepreneur’s resourcefulness. The proposed conceptual framework provides valuable insights for policymakers and entrepreneurs to exploit opportunities and create value from industrial waste under resource constraints. |
